Barbara Enright became the first woman member of the Poker Hall of Fame when she was inducted in 2007 along with Phil Hellmuth.
Enright began playing playing Five-Card Draw against her older brother at just 4 years old and started playing in cardrooms in 1976. When she began to make more money playing poker part time than in a variety of other jobs, she quit working and started playing poker professionally.
On February 2, 2008, Enright was inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame. She is now the only poker player in history to be a member of all three poker hall of fames: the Senior Poker Hall of Fame, the World Series of Poker （WSOP） Hall of Fame and the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.
Barbara Enright is Editor-in-Chief of Woman Poker Player magazine and is married to poker player and author Max Shapiro.
World Series of Poker
Enright is the only female poker player to have reached the Main Event final table at the World Series of Poker. She finished 5th at the 1995 WSOP and also cashed at the 2005 Main Event.
Barbara Enright has 3 WSOP bracelets so far and has cashed at the WSOP 10 times. Her first bracelet came in her very first poker tournament, the 1986 World Series of Poker Women’s Seven-Card Stud Event. Enright won the same event again in 1994.
Her third bracelet came in the 1996 Pot Limit Hold’em Event, when she became the first woman to ever win a World Series of Poker open event.
Other Poker Tournaments
At the Legends of Poker tournament in 2000, Enright was named All Around Best Player after cashing 8 times and making 6 final tables.
Enright is the highest female finisher （11th） in the Tournament of Champions, held at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and took part in the televised poker series, Poker Royale: Battle of the Ages.
She has also achieved a number of first place finishes in high profile events such as the Diamond Jim Brady tournament and the Hollywood Park Poker Derby.
As of 2007, Barbara Enright has won over $1.2 million in live tournament prize money
