Kathy Liebert, known by her peers as PokerKat, is one of the most successful women in poker history.
Liebert was the first woman ever to win a poker tournament with a first prize of $1 million – the first Party Poker Million event, held in 2002.
Liebert grew up in Long Island, New York, and began her professional poker career as a prop player （a player hired by the card room to get games started and keep them going） in Colorado.
World Series of Poker
Kathy Liebert has one World Series of Poker gold bracelet to her name, after winning the 2004 WSOP $1 500 Limit Texas Hold’em Shootout Event – one of 3 women to win an open event at the 2004 World series of Poker, along with Cyndy Violette and Annie Duke.
Including her bracelet victory, Liebert has finished in the money 23 times at the WSOP, with her highest finish in the Main Event being a 17th, which she achieved in both 1998 and 2000.

Liebert has made 4 final tables on the World Poker Tour, finishing in the money on 12 occasions.
Her 3rd place at the 2005 Borgata Poker Open was the highest finish by a woman on the WPT until J.J. Liu claimed a runner-up place in 2007.
She has also won the Poker Royale: Battle of the Sexes series.
To date, Kathy Liebert has earned over $4 million in live tournament winnings. She has also won more prize money in Open Tournaments than any other woman in poker history.
