The first genuine Super Bowl was played in 1967 even if the origins of super Bowl are in the 19 century. The game in 1967 was played between Green Bay Packers against Kansas City Chiefs. Green Bay Packers won the game and they are the first Super Bowl winners.
If you take a look at the Super Bowl winner list, you see that many teams were the best in some seasons and then they simply disappeared from the winner list. The first Super Bowl winners were Green Bay Packers.
They took the first 2 Super Bowls and there after they have not succeeded in this game. Other teams such as Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins or Pittsburgh Steelers became the queens of the Super Bowl.
There are three teams that have won the Super Bowl 5 times. They are the hall of fame greatest teams: Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh won their 6th Super Bowl and they are the best team in the NFL hall of fame.
The teams who have won the Super Bowl trophy took home the Vince Lombardi trophy and earned the admiration of their fans. The Super Bowl is the most important sports event in the United States and therefore it has a lot of fans all over the world too. There are a lot of countries in which this sports event is broadcasted besides the United States.
The Vince Lombardi trophy was firstly given in 1967. It was originally called World Championship Game Trophy but it was renamed in 1970 for the coach of Green Bay Packers, Vince Lombardi after his death. The trophy commemorates the death of the first great football coach in the United States and the two consecutive wins of the Green Bay Packers in the first two editions of the Super Bowl.
Awarding the trophy began in 1996 and prior to that, the awarding took place in the locker rooms of the winning team. The whole awarding festivities began in 1996. The Super Bowl winners’ list is a long one and it represents the hall of fame for this great sport.
